Every Christmas eve/afternoon a local group with no political or organizational involvement has visited the Reno VA hospital patients for the past 10 years. This year several VA staff members tried to discourage this visit because Obama had given them that afternoon off and it was considered an inconvenience for someone to stay and escort the gift givers. Channel 2 covered the event and presented it in a most professional manner that evening.
